CLIMB Works started in 2005 building ropes courses and climbing walls — then commercial zipline tours as the sport took off in the U.S. We’ve engineered, built, and operated ever since: builder and operator in one.

Nature is the experience

The best engineering disappears.

The best engineering disappears.

The best engineering disappears.

We begin with engineering, but the goal is for guests to notice the place, not the hardware. Everything we design is meant to sit quietly inside the environment rather than compete with it — sophisticated infrastructure, small ecological footprint.

The technology makes the experience possible. Nature makes it unforgettable.

A destination is only as good as its execution. We design and engineer it, fabricate the steel in-house, install and commission on site, train your team, and — where it fits — invest alongside you and help operate it. The same end-to-end capability we run across our own four-season destinations.

Our story

Builders first — then operators.

CLIMB Works started in 2005 as a training and building company — installing ropes courses and climbing walls, and teaching others to run them safely. As commercial zipline tours took off across the U.S., we moved into engineering and building those too.

In 2010 we opened our first zipline in the Great Smoky Mountains. We engineered and built zipline tours for clients on Maui, then opened our second operation in 2014 on the North Shore of Oahu. Operating what we build taught us which designs hold up on a busy Saturday and which ones cost you — so we kept engineering, kept fabricating, and kept running our own.

Along the way, we helped co-found Anakeesta, the mountaintop destination in Gatlinburg — an early, full expression of the natural-destination hybrid we’d been refining: less commercialized than a theme park, more varied than a single attraction. CLIMB Works transitioned out of the venture in 2025.

Today CLIMB Works Design is an engineering company — one where operation is the feedback loop behind everything we build.

CLIMB Works Design doesn’t work in isolation. It sits inside a group that spans engineering, fabrication, operations, safety, and software — so a project doesn’t get handed between vendors who’ve never met.

Because we fabricate in our own steel shop, engineering and manufacturing aren’t separated by a purchase order. Our team can move from analysis to a physical part and back, holding tolerances, materials, and finish to our own standard rather than a supplier’s.

Then our field crews install and commission what we built. The people who understand the system on paper are connected to the people who put it in the ground — which is how quality survives the trip from concept to opening day.

EverZip

EverZip

Our patent-pending cable-to-rail system — part zipline, part roller coaster — lets a ride cross ravines and forests on open cable, with a fraction of the structure a coaster demands — light on the land it crosses. It reached its current form across three generations of engineering.

Gen 01

Gravity

The original cable-to-rail concept, powered by gravity.

Gen 02

Dynamic tour

A full tour system with banked curves and transitions.

Gen 03

Powered trolley

Today’s motorized, patent-pending trolley with regenerative braking.

First cable-to-rail zipline coaster ever built — 2019, gravity-fed. Now the world’s first electric-motorized version, at Gore Mountain.

Our portfolio isn’t a slide deck — it’s destinations you can walk through. Our own attractions are the proving ground, where systems face real weather, real crowds, and real maintenance cycles before they’re ever specced for a client. The EverZip installs now taking shape at partner sites carry that same operating knowledge into the field.

Principles that hold up in the field.

01

Engineering first

Every project begins with rigorous, site-specific engineering.

02

Original systems

We create proprietary solutions instead of assembling from a catalog.

03

Built in-house

Direct involvement in fabrication gives us control over execution.

04

Operator informed

Our systems reflect what safety, staffing, and throughput really demand.

05

Terrain respectful

More experience and access, with a light physical and ecological footprint.
